● Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport proposed in June 2017 a plan to reorganize the construction engineer's system to ensure proper construction quality in order to cope with changes in the construction environment.
● Accordingly, the Japanese government sets goals from the perspective of the people and construction enterprises, and sets five directions to ensure proper construction quality, improve productivity, and secure construction personnel.
● The environment facing construction industry of Korea is very similar to that of Japan. Therefore, we need to look for a new direction in the construction engineer's policy to cope with the new situation at this point.
● When referring to the Japanese case, the implications are as follows: First, it is required to create attractive working environment required by the Millennium Generation. Second, to reform the reeducation system of construction engineers, improve the national technical qualification test system, and enhance the management function of the construction functional personnel. Third, as ICT(Infomation & Communication Technology) is introduced into the construction production system, the securing of the quality control system of construction materials and components should be made.
