Since the launch of the new government, which promotes 'Economic growth focused on Human', interest in construction engineer is increasing. A man of talent is especially important in the construction industry where the proportion of facility investment is low. In this situation, construction industry of Korea is faced with new changes in terms of quantity and quality as the domestic market shrinks and the fourth industrial revolution accelerates. In other words, as the convergence of the construction industry accelerates and the necessity to enter the overseas construction market increases, the capacity of the construction engineer required by the industry is also changing.
This study suggests a new direction of Korean construction engineer 's policy and suggests a policy task to implement it at the present time when the change of construction engineer policy is required according to this series of changes. The major policy tasks required for proper demand and supply of construction engineers in terms of quantitative and qualitative aspects are as follows. First, the policy directions of construction engineers should be reconsidered according to the changes in the environment. In other words, it is necessary to shift from the existing quantitative nurture policy to the qualitative nurture policy. Second, policies should be introduced for the influx of young people into the construction industry. Third, it is necessary to improve the system of construction engineer for eliminating imbalance between supply and demand to difference related to geographic location and enterprise scale. Fourth, it is necessary to improve the relevant system so that construction engineers can secure the capacity to cope with new environmental changes.
Based on the above results, in the future, more concrete countermeasures should be prepared for each task presented in this study.
