Safety management expenses in the Korean construction industry can be divided into expenses under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Construction Technology Promotion Act. The one under the Occupational Safety and Health Act is expense used for securing safety of workers inside the workplace, and the other one under the Construction Technology Promotion Act is expense used for the construction facility safety and civil safety outside the workplace. However, most safety expenses are recognized as the one under Occupational Safety and Health Act by the construction industry, and the recognition and utilization of expenses under the Construction Technology Promotion Act are relatively low. This paper investigated current reflection status of safety management expenses through survey and suggested ways to promote reflection and utilization of safety management expenses under the Construction Technology Promotion Act.
